On December 14, 2021, the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for the implementation for the Social Protection Program for Adolescent Mothers and their Children (SPPAMC) between the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) – Region II and the Municipality of Maddela, Quirino took place.
The MOA signing was graced and represented by Regional Director Herita O. Macarubbo, DPA of POPCOM-RII and Hon. Rimel C. Tolentino, Municipal Mayor of Maddela, Quirino.
This significant activity marks the continued effort of POPCOM and the local government of Maddela to address the issue on adolescent pregnancy in the said locality.
Mayor Tolentino expressed their gratitude for this cemented partnership with POPCOM which will address the needs of the adolescent mothers and their children in Maddela, specifically in the continuous provision of opportunities for their education, access to health services, and other assistance that they need to have a better quality of life.
During the activity, RD Macarubbo also discussed the salient features of SPPAMC to other municipal staff and stakeholders present.
Also present during the signing are SB Member Hon. Precy D. Albano, Committe Chair on Social Services, Women and Family, Ms. Rona S. Colendrino, PPO III and her staff, and representatives from DILG, MSWDO, MPDC, MHO, Nutrition Office, PESO, and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.
