Population stakeholders in Region 2 identified different strategies to address two key population issues in the region namely: teenage pregnancy and high fertility.
The milestones achieved from the period 2014-2015 manifests the strong partnership among local government units (LGUs), regional line agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs) and the Commission on Population Regional Office II (PopCom RO2) in the implementation of the program components of the Philippine Population Management Program (PPMP), namely: (1) Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) Program; (2) Adolescent Health and Youth Development Program (AHYDP); (3) Population and Development (PopDev) Integration Program; and (4) Gender and Development (GAD) Program.
Specifically, there is an increasing number of couples of reproductive age (CRAs) reached through RPFP classes and mentored successfully to the nearest health facility for their modern FP method needs.
Responsible individuals, well-planned, prosperous healthy and happy families, empowered communities, guided by the Divine Providence living harmoniously and equitably in a sustainable environment.
We are a technical and information resource agency, working in partnership with national and local government policy and decision makers, program implementers, community leaders and civil society. We will be the leading strategic partners, policy and program advocates for the Population Program. We will create a favorable and enabling policy environment for Population, Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health. We are committed to:
Ensuring continuing high quality professional development Programs for Population, Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health, which will enhance the competencies and strengthen the capabilities of local government units and our partners.
Enabling men, women, couples and families to make responsible decisions to meet their expressed needs in the timing, spacing and number of children.
Together, we will champion their well-being. Together, we will make a difference.
To attain a better quality of all Filipinos through management and maintenance of population level resources and the environment.
